Columbia, South Carolina

Strategically located in the heart of South Carolina, Columbia is a bustling capital city with a distinctly Southern flavor.  Although the city of Columbia is only about 120,000 people, the two counties that make up the metro area -- Lexington and Richland -- total about 600,000 individuals.

Columbia is a family-friendly city.  The cost of living is affordable, and the weather is great.  The average high temperature in January is 58 degrees!

Bordering the Atlantic Ocean, South Carolina's east coast is lined with beaches while the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains are toward the northern part of the state.  State parks, museums, art festivals, and Southern food offer memorable experiences for students and their families.
